How to use this Valentine’s Day bookmark printable:

  • To create your bookmarks, you’ll need our free printable template. Just click on the link toward the bottom of this page and print out. These bookmarks work best when printed on a heavyweight paper or cardstock. Be sure the printer is set to default or fit to page.
  • Color in the bookmarks using crayons/ markers/ colored pencil. Add stickers or glitter/ glue if you wish
  • Once they’re all colored and decorated, your child can cut out their bookmarks using scissors ( we love any reason to practice scissor skills)
  • Optional: Punch a hole in the top of the bookmark Add a tassel to the bookmark to make it extra special. Preschoolers can string small beads onto a piece of ribbon or yarn, tie it at the end, and attach to the top.
  • Don’t forget once you’re done using these bookmarks, you can recycle them or cut them up into pieces and add them to new art projects!

The benefits of coloring for young kids

  • Coloring requires precise hand movements, promoting the development of fine motor skills crucial for tasks like writing and drawing.
  • Engaging with different colors during the coloring process helps preschoolers recognize and remember various shades, expanding their color vocabulary.
  • Coloring allows children to express their creativity and emotions. Discussing their choices during the activity promotes language development.
